Another building sells on Birmingham's Southside
Yet another property on Birmingham's Southside has a new owner.
In the latest in a string of deals in the neighborhood, Magnolia Park Building LLC has purchased the building at 2114 10th St. S., for $546,500, according to public records. The seller was Wilson Englebert and Petznick.
Ingrid Straeter, the registered agent for Magnolia Park Building LLC, told the Birmingham Business Journal she plans to use the upper floor to house her veterinary specialty clinic, Animal Rehabilitation and Cardiology.
She said she is hoping to attract a general veterinary practice for the lower level of the facility.
The building is about 5,600 square feet.
Her metro Birmingham clinic is currently located at 2704 19th Street South in Homewood. Straeter said she likes Homewood, but noted that parking is a challenge in that area.
Straeter said the space needs to be renovated, so it will probably be at least six months before the clinic moves. In addition to metro Birmingham, the company also has a location in Huntsville.
Corporate Realty's Meredith Ray Calhoun and Robert Simon represented Magnolia Park building LLC in the sale. John Hardin, vice president of office sales and leasing at J.H. Berry & Gilbert, Inc., represented the seller
The deal is the latest in a series of property transactions on Birmingham's Southside and in Five Points South. Much of the activity has been driven by developers and investors.
